About Dr. John Allotey

Dr. John Allotey is a distinguished pharmacist, visionary leader, and dedicated mentor with nearly three decades of experience in the global healthcare industry. Born on October 3, 1970, in Accra, Ghana, Dr. Allotey’s journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and an unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the world.

From an early age, Dr. Allotey faced life’s challenges head-on, losing his parents at a young age. These experiences shaped his character, instilling in him a strong sense of perseverance and a deep belief in the power of service. His academic journey began at Christ the King School in Accra, followed by St. Augustine’s College, where he served as Senior Prefect—a role that marked the beginning of his leadership journey.

Dr. Allotey earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he made history as the first pharmacy student to be elected President of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC). This role ignited his passion for servant leadership and set the stage for a remarkable career.

Over the years, Dr. Allotey has held senior management roles with some of the world’s most renowned healthcare companies, including Pfizer, Novo Nordisk, Beckman Coulter, and Becton Dickinson (BD). As Head of Strategic Development for High Growth Markets at Beckman Coulter, he spearheaded initiatives across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, expanding access to healthcare in underserved regions.

 

One of his proudest achievements was leading one of the largest cervical cancer screening programs in West and Central Africa, screening over 10,000 women and influencing national health policies.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Dr. Allotey is a passionate educator and mentor. He has served as an adjunct professor at Central University and an external examiner at Ashesi University, guiding the next generation of pharmacists and healthcare professionals. Through his leadership training sessions, LinkedIn videos, and book club gatherings, he has inspired countless individuals to pursue excellence and make a difference in their communities.

Dr. Allotey’s life is anchored by his faith and family. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Yaa, and a proud father to his two children, Ellen and Arlo. His guiding mantra, “Impact is Immortality,” reflects his belief that the positive changes we inspire in others endure long after we are gone.

Today, Dr. Allotey continues to make an impact through Allotey & Associates, a leadership and management consultancy he co-founded with his brother. Through this venture, he conducts transformative leadership training and soft skills workshops, empowering individuals and organizations to achieve their full potential.
